8 Reasons Why You Should Go On A Caravan Holiday

Caravan holidays are making a comeback. With the cost of holidays rising, this cheaper alternative is a cost-effective and flexible option for an impromptu weekend getaway. Whatever your age the thrill of a caravan holiday is hard to beat. Still not convinced? We’ve put together 8 reasons why you should go on a caravan holiday.

Freedom to travel

Your options are limitless. All you need is the open road, Google maps and a campsite. Whether you fancy visiting the UK or Europe you can go there without having to shell out the expensive costs of hotel accommodation. You can also enjoy the benefit of travelling locally and you with the weather. If there’s a good forecast then why not make the most of it and take the caravan to the shore or enjoy a stay in a forest park. There are endless options.

Take your home comforts with you

Reasons Why You Should Go On A Caravan Holiday, Take your home comforts with you

Take a little bit of home with on every trip when you go away with a caravan. You can bring everything from home, from your favourite foods to your comfy pillows. There’s no need to worry about what your accommodation is going to be like, you are always in control of this. This could make a huge difference to your holiday experience.

Leave the screens at home

Want to enjoy the ultimate switch off? Leave the screens from home and enjoy disconnecting from technology for a while. Caravaning allows you to get back to nature, take in the countryside and seaside and enjoy some hikes and sightseeing. The weather mightn’t always be great, but you can always bring a board game on the road with you and there’s nothing like a good night of charades to bring the family closer together.

Make it yours

Go On A Caravan Holiday, Make it yours

You can make your caravan personalised exactly to suit your needs. You can add facilities and neat touches to make it as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Remember that this is your home away from home, so it makes sense to create a space that you can imagine resting, unwinding and connecting with the family in.

Make plenty of friends

Caravan sites are full of families just like you. You will find plenty of like-minded holidaymakers who are willing to chat and explore this new location with you. If you have children, there will be plenty of other kids their age to befriend and some sites might even offer facilities for children, like a play area or kids club.

There’s plenty of variety

With hundreds of museums and tourist must-see destinations in and around cities, there’s a caravan site for everything. If you want to explore museums with the kids, appreciate art in galleries with the in-laws, treat your teenagers to a film at the cinema, catch a gig, or see pretty much anything else absolutely anywhere… there will be a caravan site that can cater to you.

Enjoy a pet-friendly holiday

Do you have a pet you wish you could take on holiday with you? Well you can, if you travel with a caravan! Never worry about the expensive costs of boarding kennels or trying to find a hotel that allows dogs. You can take your four-legged friend with you on the road and enjoy long walks in the countryside with all the family.

Our rush hour

Most importantly, whether you’re touring for fun with friends or family, your caravan lets you take everything at your own pace and travel to your own itinerary. Take it easy and soak up every little bit of freedom that a caravan gives you. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Ikaria – Volunteering on a Timeless Greek Island

‘I wished our first meeting hadn’t started an hour and a half late…at least not the very first one!’ Mihalis laughed, pointing to an invisible watch on his hairy wrist. ‘This isn’t the kind of Greece you know…time doesn’t exist in Ikaria!’ His explosive laugh caused us, the foreign volunteers, to pause with our buttered […]

Solo Hiking the Slovenian Mountain Trail

I sat in a hostel room in Maribor, northeastern Slovenia, hiking gear and packaged food strewn all over my bed. I was planning to start walking the Slovenian Mountain Trail the following day but I still knew almost nothing about it. Established in 1953, It’s one of the oldest long distance mountain trails in the […]
